General Questions: Technical Questions
  • I made a purchase and received a confirmation email, but no song appeared in my File Cabinet.

  • A very small percentage of visitors to our site are experiencing this intermittent problem. We are aware of the cause and working quickly toward a solution. If you find yourself in this situation, contact us through our Feedback page and you'll receive a reply as soon as possible.

  • Why am I getting a "You Must Be Connected to the Internet" error or an "Error 706" in Adobe Reader?

  • This error is especially frustrating because it usually occurs while you're on our site! This error occurs when a program or piece of hardware is allowing a browser to connect to us, but is blocking the Adobe Reader program specifically from communicating with wordmusicnow.com. It may be one of the following:

    - a software firewall or firewall-like software (Something like Zone Alarm or a spyware blocker.)
    - a software proxy server (download accelerators often act as proxy servers). Caching can be part of the problem.
    - something else on your machine that blocks Acrobat but not IE from connecting to the internet.

If your system is on a network, you may want to enlist your network administrator to help discover the problem.

  • I lost my connection while downloading.

  • Return to your file cabinet @ WordMusicNow.com and click on the "Download" icon or the "Downloaded" link for the package that was interrupted.

  • Can I order individual parts?

  • At this time, wordmusicnow.com only offers combined packages for the arrangements on our site. This is to ensure that you have a suitable combination of parts to have a usable arrangement. While some parts in any given arrangement are playing similar lines, our arrangements try to strike a balance of approximating the original performance and having easily playable parts.

  • I'm having trouble with FireFox, Safari, Netscape...

  • For the most seamless experience at wordmusicnow.com, please use Internet Explorer version 5 or newer. Although it may not be your preferred browser, it is the one that has been the most extensively tested with Adobe Reader and Adobe Content Server. As the site continues to grow, we will hopefully be able to add more browsers to our compatibility list.

  • Can I hear an audio preview of the arrangement?

  • In the production process for arrangements at wordmusicnow.com, one of our priorities has been to streamline - taking as much extra time out as possible. One of the most time-consuming and costly parts of producing music is the recording process. By eliminating that from the production process, we can ensure our ability to bring you the newest and best praise and worship songs as quickly as we can.

  • Reader is giving me "Adobe Client Error: 422."

  • A 422 error is usually caused by a program running that is conflicting with Adobe Reader. A prime culprit is Earthlink's accelerator program, but it also can be caused by some proxy servers.

Please see http://support.adobe.com/devsup/devsup.nsf/docs/53814.htm for information on how you can change settings on your network to allow the Digital Edition to download.

  • What is wordmusicnow.com?

Featuring the top songs from the best publishers, you can count on us to provide playable arrangements that sound like the versions you have come to know and love. For a simple overview of the process, click the Tutorials button at left.

  • What products are available?

We have one product at wordmusicnow.com: single song arrangements in two keys of popular praise and worship songs for congregation, choir or worship team, praise band or orchestra. Each product consists of the "Core Rhythm Package" – a set of fundamental charts for use with keyboard, guitar, bass and drums – and several "Add-on" packages for churches with more instrumentation.

  • What is the difference between your product and a "lead sheet?"

A lead sheet provides lyrics, chords and a melody line only. The arrangements at wordmusicnow.com include much more, including introductions and endings to most songs. No matter the combination of instruments at your church, you will have a part for everyone with the arrangements at wordmusicnow.com. Plus, every arrangement you purchase includes the complete song twice – once in a lower key and once in a higher key.

  • What is in the different "packages?"

Each package includes all of the parts listed in the description of the product in one Adobe Acrobat Reader Digital Edition e-book file. Each package includes the entire song in two keys. If a song modulates in the middle, two complete versions are included, each with a modulation in the middle. The two keys are provided to allow you flexibility in planning medleys and choosing keys that are easier for certain instruments. Each of the Add-on packages are designed to work together with the Core Rhythm Package seamlessly to create a complete worship song.

  • How long does it take to download a package?

wordmusicnow.com packages can be downloaded in a matter of minutes. They come in many different sizes. Most of our packages can be downloaded in approximately four to five minutes on a modem connection or in a matter of seconds over broadband.

  • What's the difference between the "praise band" package and the "orchestra" package?

The "orchestra" package is a superset of the praise band package. All of the parts that are common to both packages are identical. If you purchase the orchestra package, in most cases, you don't need to purchase the praise band package. The only exception would be if you need two sets of parts for two separate ensemblesthat would need the parts at the same time (for instance, a youth praise band that plays in a youth service and an adult orchestra that plays simultaneously in an adult service.)

  • What is a "substitution" part?

Because of the wide variety of instrumentation in church orchestras and praise bands, we've created and included "substitution" parts at no extra charge. A "substitution" part doubles an existing part and allows you to substitute one kind of instrument for another. The substitution parts we've created help you when previously you've had to change clefs or transpositions to make a part work for a different instrument.

The praise band package includes:
• Eb Baritone Sax (substitute part for C Bass)

The orchestra package includes:
• Bb Clarinet 3 (substitute part for Viola)
• Bb Soprano Sax (substitute part for Oboe)

  • Does the Adobe Reader run on Linux?

  • Adobe has a version for the Linux platform, but it does not currently support eBook purchases. It may in the future if that platform becomes more widely used.

    • How do I backup my purchases?

You can back up these files just like you back up your other documents - burn them to a CD, store them on a server or back them up to tape. However, in order to open them, you must restore them to the drive where your authorized Adobe Reader software is located.

    • What would cause the error message "unable to activate/download books (firewall/proxy)"?

You may encounter difficulties when downloading e-books from behind network firewalls because of proxy settings in Internet Explorer. The Adobe Reader accesses the proxy settings in Internet Explorer whether or not you use Internet Explorer as your Web browser. Verify that these proxy settings are correct and match those of other browsers you use:

    • To check proxy settings in Internet Explorer 5.x or higher, choose Tools > Internet Options. Click the Connections tab, and click LAN Settings.
    • To check proxy settings in Internet Explorer 4.x, choose View > Internet Options. Click the Connections tab, and click Advanced in the Proxy Server group. Note: Consult your network administrator if you are unsure about the correct proxy settings.

    • What should I do if I receive an error indicating that HTTP authentication is required?

You should install the latest version of the Adobe Reader.

    • What should I do if the Adobe Reader bug report form returns the error, "Your Adobe Reader needs certification: voucher engine is not certified"?

Before you activate your Adobe Reader, it logs this error message in the bug report form. You can ignore the error.

    • What should I do if I receive the error, "Cannot open EBX transfer file," when trying to open the EBX transfer file?

If you haven't activated the Adobe Reader, do so. If you do not activate the Adobe Reader, you will be able to download *.etd files, which allow the Adobe Reader to obtain books, but not the books themselves.

After you activate the Adobe Reader, download the e-book by doing the following:

    1. Open the Adobe Reader.
    2. Click the Bookstore button.
    3. When prompted to activate, click Activate Now.
    4. Locate and open the *.etd file on your system.
    5. The Adobe Reader will then download the e-book. If you cannot find the e-book file on your system, the download process may have been interrupted; go to your File Cabinet and try to download the book again.

    • Why do I need Internet Explorer to use the Adobe Reader in Windows?

The Adobe Reader for Windows requires components that are installed with Internet Explorer. You must install Internet Explorer 4.x or later for the Adobe Reader to function properly, but you can use another browser to access the Web. Internet Explorer is available free of charge from Microsoft's Web site.

Note: If you do not have Internet Explorer 4.x or later installed, you may receive the error, "Unhandled Exception," when trying to activate the Adobe Reader or use it to access a bookstore.

    • What should I do with the *.etd file that I downloaded?

You need to activate the Adobe Reader; it will then download the e-book. The *.etd file contains information that allows the Adobe Reader to download the book; it is not the book itself.

To activate the Adobe Reader and download the file:

    1. Open the Adobe Reader.
    2. Click the Bookstore button.
    3. When prompted to activate, click activate Now.
    4. Locate and open the *.etd file on your file system. The Adobe Reader begins downloading the book.

    • Why do I get the error "Out of memory" when reading an ebook file that I opened in the Adobe Reader?

This error occurs when an item in the library points to a file that does not exist.

To verify that a file does not exist:

    1. Right-click the image of the document in the Library, and choose Info from the pop-up menu.
    2. Note the file name.
    3. Choose Start > Find > Files or Folders, and then search for the file.

Please note: Before you make your purchase, please download and install the free Adobe® Reader® 7.
Audio samples require the free Macromedia Flash Player.
